This workshop aims to provide the attendees with the current understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying cellular senescence, and how these alterations affect tissue/organ function and cause age-associated diseases. The attendees will also learn the methodologies to assess the different mechanisms associated with cellular senescence and basic notions in experimental design and data analysis. This workshop has a strong practical component, allowing the attendees to easily implement and integrate the acquired tools into the workflow of their own research projects.
The workshop will be divided in two parts: a theoretical-practical workshop and a symposium. The attendees will participate in the “1st Symposium on Aging Research @CNC – Molecular Mechanisms of Aging and Age-Related Diseases”, which will take place on 30th September 2016 and will be held at the Dept. of Life Sciences, University of Coimbra.
